Investigation of PEEK Lined Pads for Tilting-Pad Journal Bearings

Tilting-pad journal bearings are widely used in industry to support rotating shafts due their high dynamic performance. The operating limits of these mainly represented by the maximum permissible temperature lined materials pads and minimum thickness oil-film under which mixed lubrication can occur. current trend bearing development sees adoption innovative production pads, that provide higher load capacity, capability greater fatigue resistance. In this paper, static characteristics with different materials, will be investigated. distribution evaluated means a full 3D thermal model whereas deformation finite element model. At end, range terms speed defined for each material considering on temperature, mechanical stress thickness.
